LOCATION: OXFORDSHIRE
BRIEF:
· The brief was to design a generous and stylish open-plan kitchen that brings the outside in.
· Replace the existing conservatory and dining room that separated the kitchen from the garden views.
· Improve light, views, everyday usability and warmth were central to the design approach.
· Bring contemporary design flare to replace the mundane.
· The project also included a loft conversion, new bathrooms, and a reconfigured master bedroom.
· 3D visualisation of the proposals was important to help the clients understand the transformation and materials being considered.
HIGHLIGHTS:
· Replacement of the existing conservatory with an open-plan kitchen, dining, and family space.
· The large steelwork supporting the house above is hidden from view.
· Projecting green-grey aluminium finishes the flat roof and provides solar shading.
· Charred timber wall panel accommodates large glass pocket door.
· Minimalist sliding glass strengthens the physical connection with garden and visual connection with the meadow beyond.
· Loft conversion with dormer delivers additional accommodation and elevated meadow views.
· Reconfiguration of the master bedroom and bathrooms.
· Use of 3D design modelling to communicate layout, light, and spatial quality.
