BRIEF:

To design a new-build dormer bungalow on a challenging plot, balancing privacy, modern living and sustainability. A key requirement was to exceed current Building Regulations, delivering a highly energy-efficient home.

DESIGN OUTCOME:

The completed home is defined by dynamic gables, tall glazing, timber cladding and dark-framed windows. The large areas of glazing draw daylight into the home while carefully managing privacy from neighbouring properties.

The house achieves an energy performance approximately 40% better than current Building Regulations, delivering a sustainable, future-ready home supported by insulating timber, an air source heat pump, and PV solar panels.
