Tardis Effect

Project description

Although every one of our designs is a bespoke design, the family’s requirements and ideas represented the growing concept of integrated family living centred around open plan kitchens and connection with the garden. The project highlights how the combining of existing rooms in your house with only a modest sized extension can create rally large open plan living spaces, that really do bring a family together. Here we introduced the classic elements: steel beams, lantern roof light and bifold doors within an extension that worked with the pitched roof of existing rear extension, which masks the flat roof and lantern behind. The result: an all use encompassing space, that leaves the existing lounge as the ‘winter snug’, and allows the family to cook, eat, play, relax and entertain all in one expansive, light and uplifting space.
