OAK GARAGE/ANNEX
Project description
Designed to maximise accommodation for up to 3 large cars and offer a multi-use space in the roof, this sizeable building also had to subtly fit-in with its country surroundings in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Newbury. Careful thought was put into avoiding the tree roots of surrounding TPO protected trees and planning was granted without upset. The construction features robust concrete block walls, feature oak frame to front and timeless oak cladding on a brick plinth to the external walls. The chunky oak stair, erected on site, is estimated to have weight about 2tons! Upstairs a living room is formed from special truncated attic trusses for a more useable space which can be used as a home office, hobby room or guest room with its own en-suite bathroom.
